Welcome to SoundScreen. This Privacy Policy explains how Resonance LTD ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the SoundScreen mobile application and website. The SoundScreen software is developed and maintained by our development partner, Backstagedigital LTD.

We are committed to protecting your privacy, particularly regarding the use of your device's microphone.

2. The Data We Collect and How We Use It

To provide the core functionality of SoundScreen, we process the following types of data:

  • Audio and Microphone Data (Crucial): To identify the live music playing in your venue, SoundScreen requires access to your device's microphone. We do not save, store, or listen to your raw audio. Short audio snippets are captured temporarily on your device and sent securely via an encrypted connection to our third-party music recognition provider (AudD). Once the track is identified, the audio snippet is permanently deleted.
  • Device and Usage Data: We assign a random, anonymous "Venue ID" to your device using Firebase. This allows us to sync the "Now Playing" artwork to your linked TV screens and save your "Vault" history without requiring you to create a traditional user account.
  • Customer Support Data: If you contact us via our WhatsApp Business link or email, we collect your phone number or email address and the contents of your message solely to resolve your issue.
  • Payment Information: If you upgrade to SoundScreen Pro, your payment is processed directly through Stripe. We do not collect or store your credit card details. We only store the email address you provide during checkout to verify and restore your Pro status.

3. Third-Party Service Providers

We share necessary data with trusted third parties exclusively to operate the app:

  • AudD: For real-time audio identification.
  • Google (Firebase): For secure database hosting and syncing your screens.
  • Stripe: For secure payment processing and subscription management.

4. Data Retention

Your Venue ID, linked screen names, and track history are stored securely in our cloud database to ensure your screens sync automatically. You can clear your "Vault" history at any time directly within the app. If you wish to delete all your venue data entirely, please contact support.
